INTERVIEW:
THE BANK MANAGER

Ugyen Aondosoo (the publicity secretary (ii) of the press club).
Press club: sir, we are from the
press club members of middle belt academy Vandeikya, Benue state, we are here
to have a chart with you on a wide range of issues which shall be published in
the magazine titled “the press mirror”
Manager: you are welcome.
Press club: sir, could you please give
us a profile of your personality, bearing in mind when you were born,
educational background and other things you may wish that we know about you.
Manager: my name is Samuel ugoche, I came
from the family of ugoche in oturkpo (idoma land) area of Benue state. I was
born on 13th of June, 1979 in the family listed. I attended my
primary and secondary school in oturkpo, I then went for my tertiary
institution in Benue state university (BSU) I read accounting by profession and
I graduated in 1992.
I am a member of institute
of chartered accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) and many accounting bodies in
Nigeria, I do not like working with the bank, it was because of the money in
the bank that took me there. Nationally, I was a teacher. i.e. a lecturer from
Benue state university. My plan is to live the bank job and move back to
school.
Press club: sir, would you encourage
competition or collaboration with other branches?
Manager: well, we don’t compete at
this level, we only do good things which brings a lot of development to our
branch and as the manager, I handle all the activities perfectly, As a good
relationship enhanced prosperity and development of the society.
Press club: sir, imagine there is a
conflict between different departments of the branch for a share of the budget.
How do you resolve this?
Press club,
(the vice president of the press club, Miss terna Gloria mlumum): sir, tell us about how
you relate with the difficult customers?
MANAGER: well, difficult customers
are found everywhere because you can not satisfy everybody. We have our hotline
in which we attain to all the complaints of our customers and all the difficult
ones are also treated according to their issues as reported.

(the publicity secretary ii of the press club) ugyen aondosoo: sir, how do you handle a
worker you employed that is underperforming?
Manager: we promote our workers
from January to December and we withdraw raw workers very year. So if you are
under performing as a worker, you we live the office for another job.
Press club: sir, what are the top
priorities of the bank manager?
Manager: the top priorities of a
bank manager are to provide the required resources for the satisfaction of the
branch you are heading.
Press club: sir, how would you rate
yourself for your excellent performance, and well as your challenges to the
office you are holding?
Manager: as a manager of first,
bank Vandeikya branch, I make sure all my duties are done successfully for the
satisfaction of my workers and customers. In any work you are doing, there must
be a challenge, but the challenges in the bank motivate you to do the best.
Press club: on a lighter note, sir,
one day maybe a group may wish to host you, so we may like to know your
favorite food.
Manager: (laughs) well, my best
food is black amala, with okoro soup and bush meat.
Press club: thank you so much for
giving us your time despite your tight schedule, we hope that when we give this
to the public, they will be happy to read and know about your views.
Manager: I want to sincerely appreciate
