CHILDREN ARE WET CEMENT
Children
are precious gifts from the lord and are gods wonderful creatures created in
his perfect image. They are gods special delights kept in the hands of men to
mould and shape after Gods desired purpose in life.
Children’s cannot be bought with money;
therefore, it is a great privilege to have them.
These
children are not to be undermined because they are:
Ø The
great leaders of tomorrow
Ø The
great teachers of tomorrow
Ø The
great doctors of tomorrow
Ø The
strengths of old age
Ø The
men and women of god of tomorrow
At the same time if they are not properly molded or
guided, they will become tomorrow
Ø Thieves/rubbers
Ø Saboteurs
Ø Loafers
Ø Cultist

The
greatest thing in the heart of god is that all men shall be saved. It is
therefore the absolute responsibility of godly parents to bring the wonderful
gifts god has given them to fulfilled this gods single purpose and desire for
creating man to impact sound knowledge and high moral standard.
The responsibilities of molding or bringing
up godly children are directly placed on a woman.
Women are strong tools for family building
as well as nation building
The word woman stands for:
W-Wonderful
O-Outstanding
M-Marvelous
A- Adorable
N- Nice
Molding children effectively, takes a lot of
time, energy and sacrifice, but the end of it, is glorious.
The parent will enjoy peace of mind, own
well-groomed children that are respectful, useful to god and a blessing to
their generation.
Children
are when to wet cement, when you want to built a house you mix cement, sand and
water together that becomes a concrete and when a house is build with it, it
stands strong for many years. This is to tell you that, the behavior of your
child when he or she grows up will determine how well you mould him or her in
the early age.
THE PLASTICITY OF WET CEMENT
Children
can remember their experiences they encountered during the early age of their
life because of their nature as wet cement. Children are easily influenced by
parents or guidance.
The impression you make on them goes into
the wet cement of their minds. Inside of your child is a subconscious mind. It
is a brain box into which people and events are constantly putting ideals.
Children believe whatever they are told is
always the truth. No wonder they can open their mouth wide when watching
something. Tell a child “I will buy you aero plane” and he believes
immediately; he does not think and consider the possibility of what you have
said. They learn easily from what they see and that is why parents should live as
example.
It
is very important for parents to be good model for their children to emulate
them. How you can as a parent expects your children to do what you don’t do? It
is impossible!
If
a child lives with critics, he learns to condemn
If
a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.
If
a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.
If
a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.
If
a child lives with praise, learns appreciation.
If
a child lives with fairness, he learns to justice.
If
a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.
So children
receive their impression of the life from adults even their impression of what
makes godliness.
No wonder they ask questions of much. To make
godly impression we must practice positive speaking. Example, tell a child “I
can see you are a great man”, you are a wonderful child, I’m so proud of you;
by this you are forming and molding positive character/habits in the child.
Note: you
cannot give your child what you don’t have. If you are not a Christian as a
parent, you are forming and mould or bring up a good child.
That is the reason why you should reconcile
with god by realizing that you are a sinner and some time repenting from your
sins to be able to meet up with the challenge here.
PRINCIPLES IN CHARACTER MOULDING AND
MAKING
The following questions should be
considered as a parent who wants to mould their children in a godly way.
(1)
How can you guild your child to a
life better than yours?
(2)
How can you launch him into full
potentials?
(3)
How can you counter act the
downward drag of bad influences you do not even know about?
Directing a child involves two directions that are spearing
to god and spearing to your child, first there should be prayers covers
whatever stage the child is in, secondly always talk to the child.
They need words and what you say matters much, also encourage
children to grow inwardly, to become resourceful, creative to think and have a
good foundation.
The children need a lot of parental presence, be present to
give them all the support they need. Give your children time; don’t be too busy
for them. And when you are with them
1. Subdue
self-will in a child
2. Teach
them to pray
3. Give
them what is good if they ask politely
4. To
prevent lying, punish no fault which is truly confessed.
5. Commend
and reward good behavior
6. Strictly
observe and fulfill all promise you have made to your child.
PATTERNS AND REASONS FOR DISCIPLINE
Discipline
is very essential in the life of every child, therefore it is important for
every parent to punish their child whenever he or she goes wrong. ‘do not
withhold correction from a child, for if you beat him with a rod he will not
die” (prv 23:13)
I
urge women to comply to this message to mould their children in a good way so
that the world, our nation, our society, our families will be a better place to
live “every wise woman build her house, but the foolish pluck it down with her
hands “proverb 14:1

This life we have, goes with time, every
minute that passed draws one closer to his grave
Life is sweet, really sweet
But there

Unfortunately
many people are not aware of this fact; they live as if they are the owner of
their life.
